Washington!

I'm sitting at the Russells house, looking out the window at a delightfully grey sky, and my toes are freezing. What a great feeling! We got into Seattle at about 11 last night, found the Russells, found our luggage, found their car, found a way out of the airport, found the Russells house, with a car full of Duncan sitting outside, and it was all delightful. The Duncans hung around for about an hour, I think, although I was a little bit giddy and didn't really notice what time it was or anything. Then this morning, a car load of Curtises and Hermans arrived. We had apple dutch baby for breakfast, and there was lots of laughing and fun. It's so good to see everyone again.

So everyone up here, come and see us! And please try to arrange for some nice rain. It was CLEAR when we got up here, and that's completely unacceptable. Clear skies are what California is for!

I love you all.

To the great grey yonder...

*squeal*
Please arrange for some nice rain and or snow from December 28th to January 4th, since there will be a 'bundance of Bernhofts in western warshington! Five, to be specific. Mum decided this morning that she's coming as well, and so it will be quite a party. Start claiming time slots with us... We want to see everyone, so if there's any time peope WON'T be available, let us know. I am very much in favor of hitting some mountains and sledding/hurling hard snowy objects at people/freezing my bunns off... We'll try to organize everything, but feel free to "claim" some Bernhoft time. I'm SO excited to see everyone! Only a week and a half! In the meantime, have a fantastic Christmas and Boxing Day, don't overeat (Claire gave me a gluttony bracelet for thanksgiving... thanks claire!) and prepare for some serious PARTY when we're up there! *smooches*

Finals week...

So here I am, with only a philosphy phinal looming over me. I'm not actually that nervous about this one, but I wish it would just be over. I have a love-hate relationship with finals week. It's fun to do tons of studying with people from my section, but there's an awful lot of that sort of stuff, and it means that I don't see nearly as much of my "normal" friends. Which makes things really weird.

I had my theology final on Monday, and it was absolutely glorious. It was 3 short essays, I had 2.5 hours to write them in, and they were really interesting topics. I really, really enjoyed it. Tuesday we had a day off, since freshmen don't have a math final, then wednesday I had my oral seminar exam. It was also really fun. I was horribly nervous that I'd be asked a question and completely blank out, but i didn't, and it was really fun to get to talk to my tutor just one-on-one. Then today I had my lab final. I was terrified about it, since basically we were discussing everything for the first time this week... It went well though, and I drew an absolutely gorgeous diagram of the heart. Now I'm killing time before Mass, then I'll hit the philosophy after dinner. Blogging counts as brainless activity, and that's what I'm doing until a few more brain cells are replenished.

I can't wait for finals to be over. Not only will I get three weeks off, go up to Washington to visit, and not have to see a few particularly frustrating people for three weeks, but when I get back, things will return to NORMAL again! I miss the regular old day-to-day stuff, and hanging out with my normal crowd.

Anyway, I'll try to get back to the whole "correspondence" thing during break. I know there are some people who wrote me letters last summer *cringe*, and I really must be better. I'll try to do better. Anyway, pray for me in my philosophy final tomorrow from 9-11. I don't know if it's a good thing that I'm not nervous about it, but I'm not. Lots of love and prayers to everyone. Say "hi" to the cold weather for me, if you have any. That reminds me, it RAINED on Saturday night! Really hard too! it was so nice to smell it and feel it get your hair wet and kind of matted. And we found a SLUG on Granny's sidewalk! It was the first slug I'd seen in goodness knows how long. Glory! Anyway, lots of love.
