Fabre is insane...

Hey everyone!

Here I am, back again, with I can't remember how much stuff to relate. Classes are mostly going well- I have Don Rags next week, where all my tutors get together with me and talk about me as if I'm not there (somewhat scary thought...)- and I'm definitely getting the hang of it all. We just finished the Odyssey in seminar, we're into Aristotle's Categories in philosophy, half way through book three of Euclid, finishing up Deuteronomy in theology, back to Fabre in lab (crazy frenchman...) and in chapter eight of wheelock's. I think philosophy is shaping up to be the best class. I didn't really like Plato a whole lot, but I'm really digging Porphory and Aristotle. It's quite thrilling. I'm looking forward to Don Rags though, to see how I'm actually doing. *thrill of excitement and terror*

It's actually been getting sort of cold down here. My fingers and nose have been predictably chilled every evening for the past week or so. It still doesn't feel like October though. What IS the weather supposed to be like right now?

For Columbus day weekend, I went home for a day (went shopping!), then a couple of friends and my younger siblings and I all headed down to Ventura for a fantastic afternoon of boogie boarding. It was my first time. Besides almost killing myself/giving myself a concussion (my cheek still hurts from where I crashed it into the sand) we all had a fabulous time. Salt water tastes gross, but when you catch those waves right, it's oh-so-fun. After our afternoon at the beach, we went to Red Robin for quacamole bacon burgers and steak fries, and a milkshake. It was a dream come true, and reminded me very much of good times in the Northwest. The Red Robin actually reminded me a lot of the one at the Northgate Mall.

Besides that weekend, nothing really remarkable has been going on. Lots of studying, enough sleeping, trying not to get sick, hanging out with people, going to classes, and doing things that you do at college. (And not doing things that a lot of people do at college...)

Anyway, i'm intensely fond of you all. I'll see if I can give more frequent updates, with little hillarious things that happen from day to day. But probably not. You'll have to be content with this, until next time on READING RAINBOW! *doot doot doot*

In what way is Fabre insane? Can you explain more what you mean by that, Miss Bernhoft?

Guacamole burgers...!!! I love them :)

Boogie boarding sounds like loads of fun.

Oh, and TAC doesn't really have a fall. I realized this year at home that I had basically missed two falls because I was in California. Basically, even though the trees turn colors and the grass gets green (which is fall in Cali) there is no crispness in the air... which is really unfortunate.

I hope you keep enjoying classes! I totally agree with you that philosophy is "quite thrilling." That and theology were my favorite classes by far.

Adios!

Beach... If ever in CA, never drive with Sheila along 101 and if you are foolish enough to do so, don't try to have a conversation. My part of the conversation will go something like, "ooh! The surf is good today. And... wow, it's clear. Look at the Islands. (this part is shreaked) OOOH! SURFERS!!!! CATCH THAT WAVE! Oh, man, you missed it. OOH! CATCH IT, CATCH IT! It passed you by. C'mon, guys. *hastily* and girls....
Oh, sorry, Mom, what were you saying?"
I pretty much have a never ending longing to be at the beach. Yeah. I'm just making up for the rest of my life.
I'm missing fall. :(
I love this song. Thanks to Bing for leaving her CD at home. Is it called Float On Okay? It's awesome, anyway.

That sounds great Bing! *sings* Greaeaeaeaeaeaeat!!! Mmm, the Browns. One of these weekends I should hop on up there for some tea and 2 bite brownies! Actually, either Wed or Thurs was Christian's (16th/17th) birthday. So cute!
Today is a foggy, cozy-dozy day; I'm really tired, and I am going to that master class in 45 mins. :)
See y'all!

I think it's really funny that Bing's done, what, 8 weeks of school, and I've done 2.5. Wa-woah. Mathematically speaking, she's done over 3 times as much school as I have! Silly Fifi.

Bing's done 8... Yeah. That's weird, Clow. You're silly. I've done seven. I still have that dumb paper from week four to write, though... Ugh.
You know what I want super badly right now? Cookies. Some really, moist, delicious chocolate chip cookies. Home made. And some zucchini bread. Or Kristin's uber delcious pumpkin bread. Ooooh... *faints*

How was Don Rags, muffin? Was it as glorious as a visit to the dentist? :D

Boogie Boarding is the shiz, I love it! I always do that when I go to the east coast with familia. I feel delayed since you wrote this so very long ago. But guacamole sounds mexican!
